Mountain Research Initiative
The Science for the Carpathians (S4C) initiative goes back to the initiation of the Carpathian Convention in 2001. The S4C network itself was formally established in 2008 to connect scientists and their research in Central Europe, to define research priorities for the region, and to enhance international collaboration with partners from outside the Carpathians. The S4C network aims at initiating, coordinating and enhancing activities outlined in the Research agenda for the Carpathians 2010–2015 (Kozak et al. 2011).
Institute of High Mountain Biology ZU aims at increasing the level of education and research
